Couponing 101: Where to Find Coupons

Well now we understand the whole sales cycle thing and we know we want to buy at the lowest possible price on the items we need.  When an item hits it's rock bottom price, we want to stock up to last us until the next sale!  You can save a bunch of cash that way and never even use a coupon!  But...let's say we want to save even more!  When a product we need hits a price we like, add on the coupons for an even better deal!

It does take a little bit of time to get your coupons organized for your shopping trips, but that extra hour or so you spend each week will add up to put more money back into your pocket and bank account week after week!  So let's discuss how & where to find the best grocery coupons!

How & Where to Find Coupons

  1. Sunday Newspapers - The newspaper contains up to 5 sets of manufacturer's coupons each week including SmartSource, RedPlum, Procter & Gamble, General Mills, and sometimes Pepsico  and Hasbro.  Click HERE to see if your local paper offers a discounted subscription rate or even a special Sunday-only delivery deal!  Many holiday weekends such as new year's and Easter will not have coupons in the paper that Sunday.
  2. Printable Internet Coupons - You can find a wide variety of coupons on websites such as Coupons.comSmartSourceRedPlum, and  CouponNetwork.  New coupons are added throughout the month with a major "reset" on coupon prints at the beginning of every month.  Generally, you are allowed to only print 2 of each coupon per month.  Also, most of these internet coupons have a set maximum of printings so when the limit is reached, the coupon is pulled from the site.
  3. Magazines - There are several magazines that include manufacturer's coupons including Woman's Day, Redbook, Good Housekeeping, and All You Magazine.  There are tons of coupons in the All You each month ($50 to $100's worth!)  It is only sold at Walmart but you can also order a subscription.  Click HERE to see how to subscribe.  The All You website is a great informative site, too!
  4. Store Coupons - Most major grocery stores and the big 3 pharmacies (CVS, Rite Aid, & Walgreens) offer their own Store Coupons.  These Store Coupons are distributed in many ways including online, in store, in the mail, email, store magazines, store machines (the CVS red coupon machine), store loyalty cards, and more.  Learn your store's coupon policy because many times the Store Coupons can be stacked (also known as "coupon stacking") for additional savings.  Coupon Stacking means you would be allowed to use one (1) Store Coupon AND one (1) manufacturer's coupon for one item purchased.
  5. Facebook - There are so many brands and companies on Facebook today and if you look around, you will find some great promotions with high value coupons or even FREE product coupons.  I got a coupon for a FREE Domino's pizza on Facebook this week!
There are plenty of other ways to score coupons - but these are my favorite and most utilized methods!
